Keke blackmon - Owner & Head Coach

Growing up, Keke Blackmon was taught, “If you’re too big to serve, you’re too small to lead.” With this in mind, Keke has served her community and led her team as a player, coach, and friend to all.

Keke grew up in Portland, OR but made her way around the country – playing in and coaching for Championship winning teams – all before planting her roots in Kansas City and finding The Glory in 2019. In search of a head coach for Kansas City’s new Women’s Football team, Tim and Vicki Kestermont approached Keke with their vision for the team, for the city. At the time, Keke needed football more than ever, and knew that coaching this team was her calling. She accepted the offer knowing that Women’s Football in KC would be a platform to serve and empower women and young girls on and off the field. After two winning seasons as head coach, Tim and Vicki approached Keke again. This time, to become owner of the team. Within 24 hours, they had their answer and The Glory a new owner.

From Keke: “The WNFC has made it possible for us (women) to thrive. I want to continue that legacy in Kansas City. I will continue to be a role model and example of the WFNC's mission. I will continue to hold their mission above all - to help women and girls reach their full potential through the power of football."

Sheila Sickau - President

Originally from Eden, New York, Sheila Sickau grew up around horses and horseback riding which instilled in her a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. Throughout high school and into her college career, Sheila ran track & field, played soccer, and basketball. She found success with track as a Scholar-Athlete for the American East Conference, but it wasn’t until she started playing women’s tackle football (starting her career in KC in 2018) that her impact on women’s sports was truly felt. Since 2015, Sheila has been a player, student, and leader of the game in the Kansas City area and beyond. From attending the Women’s World Football Games in 2015-18, to leading Ottawa University’s Flag Football team to a winning National Championship in their inaugural 2021 season as an Assistant Coach, to winning the 2022 WNFC and KC Glory Special Teams Player of the Year, to the countless leadership and service roles she has held, President of the Kansas City Glory was the natural next step in Sheila’s impactful career in Women’s Football.

From Sheila: “I want to help create a world where the little girl growing up watching football with her family has the same opportunities as her brother to play the same sport against her peers.”

With her background as a player, teacher, and coach, along with her connections in the NFL as a Business Development Representative for the Kansas City Chiefs, Sheila will help The Glory become a platform for women’s sports and women’s equality.

Krishna lee - General Manager

Krishna Lee, like many young girls, grew up with a love for football that she inherited from her father, but never had the opportunity to play. She didn’t let that stop her from excelling in other ways, however. Throughout high school, Krishna played basketball and competed in track & field where she threw shot and disc, earning three State Champion titles and eight All-State awards. Krishna left Kansas City to attended University of Missouri where she went on to become a 2x All-American in shot put, and an All-American and Big 12 Conference Champion in hammer throw. After moving back to KC in 2015, she took the advice of an opponent after an indoor soccer match and tried out for the Kansas City Titans – the predecessor to The Glory. In her own words, “the rest was history. I knew I had found the thing I was missing at that point in my life. Football gave me such a sense of community and sisterhood.” Krishna went on to become a 2x WNFC All-Pro selection and 2022 WNFC and KC Glory Defensive Player of the Year.

Now, as General Manager, she hopes to create an environment, an organization where all players feel encouraged, challenged, loved, and pushed to reach their greatest potential on the field, in the community, and in their personal lives.

From Krishna: “The missions of The Glory and the WNFC are core to who I am as a person. Regardless of my role with the team, I strive to help women and girls reach their full potential. I’m just really lucky that I get to do that in this role and through the game of football.”

The momentum of partnerships and the platform that is being built for women to play football is gaining national attention. It's time to hold the door open with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and social responsibility for those that want to play and watch women in football. With these three women at our helm, along with the rest of the staff and players, The Glory is ready to pave the way for women and girls in Kansas City and, with the rest of the WNFC, the world.
